Benchbots
2018

Project by Hui Sim Chan, Wimonwan Wichaikhamjorn, Ahrian Taylor, Patsaraporn Liewatanakorn

BenchBots is a light reactive site-specific installation located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, UK.

The idea of Benchbots was to create a nocturnal creature that lives on long benches in Olympic Park and responds to different user movements through live data based on pressure extended on the bench, movement, and speed.

Sitting, walking, running, and cycling past the benches demonstrate different behaviors and encourage more exploration of the site and interaction between the public and the built environment.
