KOKIDI KODIKI KOD
[selected medias]Phase 1 of Project S.O.P.
Supported by MyCreative Ventures, Cendana Malaysia
Project S.O.P. is a series of events that revolve around an interactive art installation named ‘Standard Operation Procedure’ that celebrates the S.O.P. ritual and commemorates the engagement when carrying out S.O.P. tasks. It is an artefact that facilitates an orchestrated performance but one that is delightful enough for the people to have fun and remember this as one of the peculiar installations conceived out from the age of pandemic. The project also aims to raise or provoke conversations around digital technology since the S.O.P. ritual is part of the recent human tech discourse.
The project is designed through different scales of public engagement: Phase 1: ‘Kokidi Kodiki Kod~’ Lockdown Camp, engaged young makers
Phase 2: ‘The Trinket Shop’ exhibition, involved broader audiences
Phase 3: ‘S.O.P.’ interactive sculpture, presented as an artefact that facilitates interactions at KongsiKL
Kokidi Kodiki Kod~ Virtual lockdown camp was the first public event conducted under Project S.O.P., with the main task to explore the animation of non-living objects - to give life to daily objects through the new media methods such as
building connections between human and machine through responsive lights.
With the year 2020 marking the victory of darkness as the hopes of mankind were engulfed, 10 young makers from Chumbaka attended The Mage Trials a.k.a. ‘Kokidi Kodiki Kod~’ Camp to join forces and restore the lights of hope.
The prototypes of this camp were exhibited publicly at ‘The Trinket Shop’ exhibition, and all the outcomes have informed the character design of the final S.O.P. installation.
