Soundscape is a site-specific, immersive installation inspired by the importance of movements and sounds honey bees make as a form of communication. In this project, we embraced the principle of order and chaos by creating a large number of identical mechanical instruments that make sounds, and programmed them in a prepared framework of system and possibilities in the Maker Yard, approximately 1,050 sq.ft. at Plexal, Here East, London.

The sound of honey bees buzzing as a form of communication.
This project is inspired by how honey bees use movements and gentle buzzing sound caused by the rapid movement of their wings to communicate and share information with other workers on the location of food sources.

This installation asks visitors to re-orient their bodies to the physical environment around them, connecting with other through engaged listening and body movements.
This project further explored posibilities of using easy and simple mechanical system to transform and activate a space through architectural interventions and analog sound sculptures combining visual, sound and existing spatial elements.
