2019#followme is an immersive live performance piece featuring Neoteny, in collaboration with the performer, Valeriya Vakutina.
“How are the memories from past experiences associate with the behaviour we perform with our bodies? And, what is that makes humans human?”
The use of body augmenting wearable technology, Neoteny during this performance allows the performer to further explore how to use her own body as both the subject and object, by introducing cross-sensory connections across her muscle movements and olfaction.
“I am bringing my narrative into a living, breathing being in an expression that is never experimented prior to presentation through Neoteny.”
Entering a room, covered with white canvas where the traces of the performer will be visible under UV lights installed in the room. Audiences are invited into her very own memories and experiences, to freely experience the movement of the performer in the space, to follow her with her scents journey and to be completely visible as part of the experience.
