The Mies and Maus Project.

The Mies and Maus Project were created to help first-year undergraduate architectural students from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL to better understand the basics of the engineering concepts that underpin design using animation and game design during the lockdown.


This is a Work In Progress.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Professor Stephen Gage

The Mies and Maus project is the brainchild of Professor Stephen Gage.  Stephen is an Emeritus Professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture. The Bartlett School of Architecture is part of the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment which is globally rated at no 2 in the subject area. Stephen has been instrumental in creating the MM scripts and commenting on animation content.


Dr. Fiona Zisch
Dr. Fiona Zisch is a Senior Lecturer at the Bartlett. Fiona teaches in Bartlett’s MArch Design for Performance and Interaction (DFPI) program. Fiona’s architectural research is also based on neuroscience. She has a special interest in architecture and movement. Fiona has guided the MM project in the context of animation and set design and danced as Maus in our pilot video animation, Mies and Maus: More Than A Question of Style.


Hui Sim Chan
Sim is a trained designer who is a graduate of the DFPI program. She is currently an interaction designer based in Malaysia. Sim has prepared the animation storyboards for the project and will prepare game design storyboards as these are developed.
